If, like us, you love the Dales then please help us to keep this place special by leaving our registerd charity a gift in your will.

Such a gift will help the Dales stay beautiful, vibrant and protected – so that others can gain the same pleasure from this amazing area in the future.

  • We are a trusted charity with a proven track record of over 35 years of charitable work – have confidence in us.
  • We have stories & testimonials to tell about how legacies have helped us in the past.
  • After providing for your loved ones, is there room for us?
  • Any gift of any size is valuable to us (and other things as well as money can be left).

If you would like to support our charity through a gift in your will, we recommend speaking to your solicitor. We are not intending to give legal advice and you should always get your own professional advice from a solicitor. If you would like to support Friends of the Dales in your will, your solicitor will want to know our charity’s registration details and the type of gift you prefer. This could be a specific sum or perhaps a fixed percentage of your estate. You might it helpful to print this pages so you take this note along:

“I wish to make the following gift in my will. I give and bequeath …………. % share of my estate OR the sum of £……….. to Friends of the Dales (a registered working name of the Yorkshire Dales Society), of Canal Wharf, Eshton Road, Gargrave, North Yorkshire, BD23 3PN (Registered charity number 515384) for its general charitable purposes absolutely.”

This autumn two national will writing campaigns, funded by larger charities, to encourage all of us to write or update our wills. Solicitors participating in these campaigns offer reduced or even free will-writing services. Free Wills Month started in 2019, runs every October and is for people over 55 years. Will Aid Month runs in November and is open to anyone!
